Getting Here

The Garden Rooms are located at 96 Tay Street in the small, picturesque town of Newport-on-Tay in northeast Fife, just off the A92 by the Tay Road Bridge. We are located at the eastern end of the town, close to the Tay Road Bridge. The Garden Rooms has its own, private access which can be found to the rear of the property on Tayview Terrace.

Road

From Dundee: Cross the Tay Road Bridge (A92) and take the first exit at the roundabout (signposted Newport). At the bottom of the hill, turn left and continue for ½ mile. Turn left up Grenada Brae, then right onto Tayview Terrace. The Garden Rooms are halfway along on the right.

From Edinburgh: Take the A90 north across the Queensferry Bridge. Exit at Junction 8 onto the A91 (signposted Tay Road Bridge). After 11 miles, take the second exit at the roundabout and follow A92 signs for Tay Bridge. At the Tay Bridge roundabout, take the third exit (signposted Newport). At the bottom of the hill, turn left, continue for ½ mile, then left up Grenada Brae and right onto Tayview Terrace. The Garden Rooms are halfway along on the right.

Rail

Newport is easily accessible by rail via Dundee Station (2 miles) or Leuchars Station (5 miles), both on the East Coast Main Line between Edinburgh and Aberdeen. From either station, catch a local bus or take a 15-minute taxi ride to Newport.

Dundee Station also offers direct trains to Glasgow, Perth, and Carnoustie, with connections to Stirling and Inverness via Perth.

Air

The closest airport is Dundee (3 miles), though it offers limited flights. More extensive services operate from Edinburgh Airport (38 miles) and Aberdeen Airport (71 miles), both accessible by train and bus connections through Dundee or by taxi.

Taxi

While Newport has no local Uber service, several taxi companies operate in the area, primarily from Dundee. For airport transfers to major Scottish airports, book in advance. For Dundee Airport connections, local firms are recommended.

Bus

Regular bus services connect Newport to surrounding areas through two operators: Moffat & Williamson runs through the town center, while Stagecoach East stops at the Tay Road Bridge Car Park (10-minute walk from The Garden Rooms). Direct buses link Newport with Dundee, St Andrews, and Cupar, with frequent connections from Dundee to major cities including Edinburgh (and its airport), Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Inverness.
